Charities and Political Activity- CRA Consultation
Resetting the definition of charities' work in public policy
Charities and nonprofits play a critical role in Canadian society to address issues that face communities across the country. This role requires the charitable sector to engage in “political activities” to help shape the policy and laws that have an impact on their work with the people and the communities they serve.
The Canada Revenue Agency is reviewing rules about political activity by charities. It’s conducting a public consultation until December 14. To help the charitable sector learn more and add its voice, ONN, Environmental Defence and Imagine Canada are hosting a joint webinar.
The seminar will include a question and answer session, and provide context to help your organization make a submission to the CRA's online consultations.
During this webinar:
Learn what the consultation means for the sector and its relationship with the federal government
Learn more about Imagine Canada's recommendations and Environmental Defence's advocacy campaign
Hear what the sector is saying and share your voice
